Q: Where is pickup?

A: Pre orders can be placed for pick up on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from our bakery at 218 Dominion Road, Mt Eden, Auckland. We have plenty of parking around the back for you to use.

 

Q:  Is the Oat Freedom Loaf safe for Coeliacs?

A: The short answer is no. BUT we do offer a gluten free, Coeliac-safe alternative - the Buckwheat Loaf.

The long explanation is that Oats can affect a small number of Gluten and Coeliac intolerant people.  The reason is twofold.

  1. With oats, there is potential cross contamination in the growing, milling and processing phases. In addition to this, most commercial oats are processed in the same facilities that process wheat, barley and rye.

  2. Oats contain a protein similar to gluten called Avenin. This affects 20% of Coeliac sufferers. So it's recommend that they avoid oats all together.

To be safe, we advise you opt for the Buckwheat Loaf instead of the Natural Loaf. 

 

Q: How long does the loaf last?

A: Four days ambient, 3 - 6 months in the freezer. We don’t use preservatives in our loaves so they will go off, but they're most often eaten before that point!  

First four days: keep in a cool dry place (cupboard / refrigerator)

Five days onwards: slice and store in an airtight container or bag in the freezer. 

 

Q: Can I freeze the loaf?

A: A definite yes!  

Just make sure to slice it first and store in an airtight container or bag.

 

Q: Is the Freedom Loaf Paleo or Keto?

A: Sort of. We recommend making your own decision based on the below information and the nutritional information panels provided in each product. 

Paleo - The Buckwheat Freedom Loaf is our most Paleo friendly option.  Buckwheat is considered to be a 'pseudo-grain'.  Some customers are happy with the Buckwheat Freedom Loaf on this basis. 

Keto - The Oat Freedom is our most Keto friendly option. Per 100g there are 5.55g of net carbs (17.6g total - 12.05g fibre = 5.55g). The loaf can be sliced thinly and with all the protein from the seeds is still very filling. 

 

Q: Do you deliver?

A:  YES!  Overnight even! Both within Auckland and across New Zealand.
